Virtual Live Training via Zoom - This is an 8-Hour ICC certified  Training divided  into TWO sessions:

Session 1 (4 hours):  Thursday, June 26, 2025  8:00am - 12:00pm (Pacific Standard Time)

Session 2 (4 hours):  Friday, June 27, 2025  8:00am - 12:00pm (Pacific Standard Time)


There will be UNLIMITTED Q&A Live Sessions at the end of each training day.


Notes:

  • In order to receive the certificate of class completion for this class and the 8 ICC CEUs, participants will be required to fully attend both 4-hour sessions.
  • In order to monitor participants attendance during the live virtual training, participants will be required to have web-cams showing their live attendance during the class. If a certificate of completion for the class is not required - the web-cam is not required to monitor the attendance.
  • Upon completion of your class registration and payment, each participant will be emailed a unique Zoom meeting link prior to the class.
  • The certificate of class completion will be emailed to all participants after the class is completed.

 CLASS DESCRIPTION

 FIRE ALARM CODE TRAINING: NFPA 72-2025, AND IBC/IFC-2024 SECTION 907 - Fire Alarm Systems Based on Occupancy Type AND NEW 2025 California CBC/CFC Section 907 (Effective in CA on January 1st, 2026) WITH UNLIMITED Q&A Sessions on BOTH training days.
The 2022 CBC/CFC also include many NEW Significant Changes in Section 907 (Fire Alarm and Signaling Systems) which will become effective in CA on 1/1/2023. This class will discuss and clarify ALL National and CA changes.


CLASS OVERVIEW

 The currently published NFPA 72 Code is the 2025 edition. It will become effective in CA on 1/1/2026 as adopted by the 2025 CBC/CFC. The 2024 IBC/IFC and 2025 CBC/CFC Section 907 (Fire Alarm), include specific requirements for Fire Alarm systems based on occupancy types. This training will discuss and clarify National and CA significant code requirements in NFPA-72 and IBC/IFC/CBC/CFC.
 
The new 2025 Edition of NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, was published by NFPA in 2024 It includes many significant changes regarding fire alarm systems and other signaling systems such as two-way emergency communications systems from the previous 2022 edition. Many significant requirements and changes have been made regarding the interface between fire alarm and signaling systems and other building systems such as elevators (Standard overhead and MRL Elevators, Fire Service Access Elevators, ERCES and Two-Way Emergency Communications Systems) , Cyber Security (Chapter 11), Survivability of Pathways, audible and visual notification such as RAMO and more.
 
The 2024 IBC/CBC and NEW 2025 CBC/CFC Section 907 include specific building and fire code requirements based on occupancy types (which system is required for each occupancy type) including building fire alarm systems and dedicated function(s) fire alarm systems. This training will discuss and clarify the NEW and significant code changes and requirements in the 2025 NFPA 72 , 2024 IBC/IFC and 2025 CBC/CFC Section 907.
 
The significant requirements and code changes will be presented and discussed on a chapter-by-chapter basis with real-life examples and with an Unlimited Q&A session on each training day.
 
This class is taught by Fire Protection Engineer, Sagiv Weiss-Ishai, P.E., with over 28 years of experience in the Fire Protection field. Sagiv serves as a principal member on the SIG-PRO Technical Committee of NFPA 72 and other national and CA state code committees.

Clarify and discuss NFPA 72-2025 structure and chapters' arrangement and discuss the NFPA code making and code changes procedures. Identify and clarify the new NFPA 72-2025 and the 2024 IBC/IFC and the 2025 CBC/CFC Section 907 - Fire Alarm Systems. Significant code changes and requirements differences between the 2022 editions.

Understand specific building code requirements (IBC/CBC) pertained to new fire alarm systems in different type buildings/occupancies.
